I believe the hypothesis of their study is in relation to love that has been lost. The way it is filmed shows the audience two stories that run parallel to one another. The idea of lost love is also conveyed through common actions carried out by characters, promoted from the thoughts of one characters that appears to be engaged in reflection of these events; for example the sequence that shows both characters plucking the pheasant.
